Should the government be able to fine a news outlet that publishes a false report it could have checked and refuses to correct?

Allow fines. An outlet that won't correct a false report it could have checked should pay a price, even if officials could use fines against true reporting they dislike

No fines. Corrections, libel suits, and readers leaving should hold outlets to account, not government fines, even if some false reports go unpunished
